Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive in San Jose, Costa Rica. Transfer to the modern and luxurious Park Inn hotel (possibly take a short tour of San Jose city). Project Kids Network orientation and welcome dinner in the evening at the hotel.

Day 2

After breakfast, transport to Sarapiqui and spend the afternoon volunteering at the Sarapiqui Learning Center. Deliver donations and participate projects (school construction, painting, soccer equipment distribution and soccer with the children). Stay in the rainforest along the Sarapiqui river at the Selva Verde Lodge and Rainforest Reserve –a truly unique Costa Rican Eco­Lodge (feels like staying in the rainforest tree­houses). Explore the rainforest, discover the wildlife and relax in their hammocks, swimming pool and enjoy wildlife such as monkeys, poison­dart frogs, all species of birds around you. Take an optional nighttime wildlife hike to see various nocturnal species

Day 3

Spend the day volunteering at the Sarapiqui school – construction – maintenance – painting – soccer at the end of the day. Learn about the educational system, go on a tour of the school, see a presentation, and spend time doing activities with the children. Breakfast, lunch and dinner provided.

Day 4

Continue your volunteer experience at the school in Sarapiqui. In the afternoon transport to the Arenal Volcano, the countries’ most active volcano standing at 5437 feet. Check­in to the Arenal Paraíso hotel and enjoy dinner overlooking the beauty of the Arenal Volcano. Breakfast, lunch and dinner provided. Rainforest Canopy Zipline experience also a possibility here.

Day 5

Wake up early and hike to La Fortuna Waterfalls (swim under the the famous La Fortuna waterfall). The waterfall drops about 70­75 meters and is located at the base of the dormant Chato volcano. Continue your journey to the Tamarinda Diria Hotel. Relax to sounds of the ocean on the beach or by the pool or listen to nature from your room as you wind down for the night. Dinner on the beach at a luxurious beach resort hotel. Breakfast, lunch and dinner provided.

Day 6

Wake up with breakfast on the beach. Spend the morning participating in a service learning / soccer equipment distribution and soccer on the beach at the school in Tamarindo. Late afternoon, relax at the beach, surfing lessons at Tamarindo Surf’s up! Beginners and experienced alike, test your surfing skills today on the ocean, zip line through the monkey jungle canopy tour or take a Casagua Horse tour. Dinner will be at a luxurious steakhouse near the resort. Breakfast, lunch and dinner provided.

Day 7

After breakfast on the beach, spend the morning participating in a service learning / soccer with the kids at the school. Transfer back to San Jose in the afternoon and spend the evening at the Park Inn. PKN Farewell Dinner in the evening. Breakfast, lunch and dinner provided.

Day 8

Project Kids Network program ends after breakfast. Transfer to the airport for your return flight or stay and explore more of this amazing country on your own time.
